I am a former accountant turned software developer. Before deciding to become a developer, I studied Economics and Accounting at UC Santa Barbara and graduated in Spring of 2014. After working as an accountant for a year and a half, I decided that I needed to make a career change and pursue a career that is more challenging and intellectually stimulating. I love solving problems and learning new things, which are two things I really love about coding. In February 2016, I enrolled in Dev Bootcamp, a coding bootcamp in San Francisco, which focuses on web development. I’m currently looking for an entry-level job that will continue the fast-paced learning I have done since then.
A web application which allows users to search for and rent privately-owened parking spots near them. Technologies used: Ruby, Sinatra, PostgresQL, JavaScript, JQuery, Google Maps API.
A mobile application that allows users to create cocktails without using any measuring tools. A user can view a list of drinks which are categorized by the type of liqueur inside of that cocktail. A user can then see a recipe for that drink, and a "pour guide". The pour guide shows the user a visual with horizontal lines across the screen. The user can then place their phone directly next to their glass, and pour each ingredient in the drink until it reaches the line. Then do the same with every other ingredient... Technologies used: React Native, NodeJS, ES6, Ruby on Rails, PostgresQL.
A voice application created using the Amazon Alexa voice service. This application will help parents and babysitters record important information such as the child’s allergies, bedtime, and medications. Technologies used: NodeJS, AWS, Alexa Skills Kit, DynamoDB.
Voiceter Pro is a company that is working on a framework for creating conversational voice apps using the Amazon Alexa voice service. Specifially they are creating a voice application that will allow users to search for real estate to buy and/or sell. I am creating a mobile app using React Native with a Ruby on Rails back end. This mobile app shows the search results from the voice app and displays the houses for the user. Technologies used: React Native, NodeJS, ES6, Ruby on Rails, PostgresQL.
